Every year on April 28th, OPSEU/SEFPO joins our fellow workers in the labour movement to observe the National Day of Mourning for workers who have been killed, injured or made ill at work.
As trade unionists, we organize in our workplaces to prevent accidents, injuries and illnesses of all kinds that are caused by our jobs – including physical injuries, occupational stress injuries, trauma, and occupational disease. Every year, as we mourn the fellow workers we’ve lost – we also vow to continue the fight for strong health and safety measures to prevent any further workplace illnesses, injuries and deaths.
