OPSEU/SEFPO Equity Gathering

Dear Equity Committee and Caucus Members:

This is to advise you that the OPSEU/SEFPO Equity Gathering has been scheduled.

Date: Thursday, January 13, 2022, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Friday, January 14, 2022, 9:00 am – 4:30pm

Meeting Details:

This event is a gathering of equity representatives from OPSEU/SEFPO’s eight (8) equity committees and caucuses.  The overall purpose will be to present equity committee and caucus strategic plans and discuss Resolutions created by the Social Mapping Task Force with your equity counterparts based on the Final Report of the Social Mapping Project that will be put forward at OPSEU/SEFPO’s 2022 annual Convention.  It will also be an opportunity for members to network with equity representatives from across the province.

**Please Note: As this meeting is being held virtually, no expenses outside of time off (if required) will be reimbursed except in special circumstances where expenses have been pre-approved. To inquire further about pre-approval, please email conferencesandtravel@OPSEU.org.

Online registration forms for this meeting are now available. Members will be able to complete and submit the Member Event Registration Form through OPSEU/SEFPO’s Member Portal.

9:00 to 4:00 PM – Meeting with your individual equity committee / caucus (enter using the Zoom details. You will be separated into break out rooms for the day.)

Prepare or finalize the 2 to 5 year Strategic Plan you will present at the Gathering.

Reminder about the Equity Convention Video each committee/caucus needs to prepare via Zoom recording (record an equity issue in 90 seconds).

9:00 to 9:30 AM, Land Acknowledgement, Statement of Respect, Introduction of Chairs, welcome to      the Gathering & Logistics

9:30 to 10:15 AM, Discuss Social Mapping Resolutions as a group.

10:15 to 10:30 AM, Break (during break participants are moved to break out rooms)

10:30 to 11:30am, Break Out Room discussions: pros and cons of the resolutions. Finalize which resolutions are sent to Convention.

11:30 to 12:00 PM, Return to main Zoom Room to discuss Break Out Room findings

12:00 to 1:30 PM, Lunch

1:30 to 2:00 PM, Discuss Break Out Room findings (continued)

2:00 to 2:30 PM, Present Strategic Plans(15 minutes per committee/caucus)

2:30 to 2:45 PM, Break

2:45 to 4:30 PM, Present Strategic Plans   (continued)
