Services for vulnerable children in child protection and youth justice system are being cut by nearly $100 million this year alone. The Ottawa Children’s Aid Society (CAS) is facing cuts of up to $1.5 million.

At the Ottawa Children’s Aid Society, the cuts have already led to the elimination of the Family Support Program, which helps keep kids where they belong: in a loving, functional family. Losing the Family Support Program will mean more kids in care, hurting them, their families and our entire community.

It’s not the only cut Ottawa CAS is expecting: more layoffs and unfilled vacancies are on the immediate horizon. The frontline workers who are left will have higher caseloads, which means they’ll be able to provide less support and care.

Tell Todd Smith: We CAN afford to care for ALL children in Ontario!
