Dear OPSEU members of the Newmarket-Aurora riding and Region 3,
The Ford government’s proposed Bill 74 – The People’s Health Care Act, 2019 is threatening the very foundation of our public health care system. On the table is massive restructuring to hospitals, long-term care, home care, community care and mental health services. Without a doubt, these changes backtrack on the promises to protect public health care, which the PC government made so vehemently on the campaign trail.
We are counting on members like you to participate, with our brothers and sisters at UNIFOR, in a united fight-back-campaign against this legislation and the privatization of public services it seeks.
Please join us on Saturday, March 30 from 12 pm – 4 pm in a leaflet drop throughout the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care and Deputy Premier of Ontario, Christine Elliott’s riding of Newmarket-Aurora. For those able to attend, we will be meeting at 11:45 am at Lester Pearson School, at 15 Odin Crescent, Aurora, ON, L4G 3T3 (located near the Yonge and Wellington intersection in Aurora).
Here, you’ll obtain leaflets and a map of the area to be canvassed.
