Day of Action: Stop Legal Aid Cuts!

On July 30, tell Attorney General Doug Downey and Doug Ford: Stop the cuts to Legal Aid and community legal clinics! Join the coalition of community members, frontline legal aid workers, and lawyers at protests and actions in communities across the province.

Ford's $300 million cuts to legal aid will hurt a huge number of people in Ontario, including tenants, low-wage workers, women fleeing violence, people struggling with mental illness, workers hurt on the job, and parents with custody or support issues. They're the biggest cuts ever faced by legal aid and community legal clinics.

Join the fight for access to justice at these events across Ontario on July 30:

Bracebridge:

4:30-8:30 p.m. - Justice Fest evening of fun and action, 8B Ontario Street

Kingston:

11:30 a.m. - Rally at Kingston City Hall, 216 Ontario Street

Noon - 2 pm - Pop-up Legal Clinic in front of Owen Sound City Hall (808 2nd Ave. East) in support of the Grey-Bruce Community Legal Clinic

Peterborough:

Noon - Meet at clinic (150 King Street, 4th floor) and go leafletting downtown

Renfrew:

12-1 p.m. - Gathering at the Town Hall, 127 Raglan St. S. The Renfrew Community Legal Clinic will be handing out freezies and information to the public.

Sarnia/Point Edward:

12-2 p.m. - Info picket outside MPP Bob Bailey's office, 805 Christina St. N., Suite 102, Point Edward. Hosted by Community Legal Assistance of Sarnia

Thunder Bay:

1-4 p.m. - Pop up legal clinics at City Hall, the Inter-City Shopping Centre, and Bay & Algoma (beside the Finlandia Club). Hosted by the Kinna-Aweya Legal Clinic

Toronto:
