Join the Coalition of Racialized Workers (CoRW) at this year’s African Fashion Week (AFW) 2019
AFW Toronto opens with a networking soiree, followed by a Fashion Marketing Seminar, High Fashion Designer Runway Shows, African Fashion Industry Awards, Student Designer Competition and more.
The colors, sight and sounds of the continent comes together for a weekend of inspiring fashion. According to Co-Founder Isaac Ansah, “AFWT is a mainstream marketing platform for African inspired fashion and creative brands, that work with and supports a number of charitable organizations and community groups with a mandate to promote and advocate”.
AFWT Supports the community by providing scholarships and facilitate internships, mentorships and other career programs to encourage growth and advancement within the global fashion industry.
OPSEU members wishing to attend this event can do so in two different ways.
Monday August 19th up to 30 OPSEU members can attend the Student Designer Competition free of charge. It will be held in the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).
For all other events, OPSEU members are eligible for a discount of $5. Please be sure to enter OPSEU2019 when purchasing your tickets.
This year’s event promises to follow in the footsteps of the successes of previous years.
