Editors’ Weekend has been a biennial members’ favourite for a quarter-century. Communicators – that’s everyone in today’s digital world – across OPSEU have taken advantage of workshop offerings to acquire and/or enhance their communications skill set.
The conference will be held at the Hilton Airport Hotel from Friday, December 6 to Sunday, December 8. There will be an awards banquet on Saturday night to celebrate the best in OPSEU communications.
The Friday afternoon plenary session will also feature a presentation by economist Randy Robinson, Ontario director of the Canadian Centre of Policy Alternatives. Randy enjoys a well-earned reputation as a funny and engaging speaker.
On Sunday afternoon, elections will be held for the inSolidarity Committee, which writes and publishes the quarterly inSolidarity.
Only one member per local is eligible to attend, although consideration will be given to two after the due date.
Submissions are also being received for our awards ceremony. If you have a local website or newsletter, then don’t hesitate to submit your work. There are many categories. See the Editors’ Weekend flyer for more information.
The due date for applications and awards consideration is October 25. Workshop sizes are limited, so don’t delay.
See you at Editors’ Weekend 2019!
