Conference Details
OPSEU’s Provincial Francophone Committee (PFC) invites you to submit your application to attend the 2017 Francophone Conference entitled “Our Language, Our Pride, Our Solidarity.” It will take place from June 9-11, 2017 in Ottawa. We look forward to meeting you!
This event can accommodate approximately 70 members who will be selected by the PFC. The selection process will endeavor to invite a diverse group of attendees, representative of the many groups within our membership and their distribution among our regions. We are aiming for a rich mix of backgrounds and points of view among the participants.
The conference will focus on the role OPSEU plays in promoting the francophone culture in communities across the province. The topics explored will include, but are not limited to, discussions on the current status of “la Francophonie” in Ontario. In addition, participants will look at the tools they need, specifically in French, to get more involved in their union. The overall goal will be for participants to confidently express themselves in French, in public, as well as go home with ideas for immediate action in their communities.
Do not miss this opportunity to network, learn, share experiences and have some fun. Please submit your completed application by e-mail to [email protected] or fax to the Equity Unit no later than midnight, March 31, 2017. Please also note that the conference will be conducted entirely in French and preference will give given to members who self-identify as francophone or those confident enough to communicate in the language. The PFC will be using an anonymous selection process and will be applying the criteria as set out on pages 2 and 3 of the application form. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
