At OPSEU, we know that diversity is our strength; in our union, our communities and in every single workplace. We know that diversity enriches our society and that meaningful inclusion depends on the eradication of discrimination in all its forms.
Statement from the Coalition of Racialized Workers on the International Day for the Elimination of Racism
This past week is a stark reminder of why the commemoration of March 21, 1960, when police opened fire on Black unarmed people protesting pass laws killing 69 of them.
At a time where divisive and protectionist ideologies dominate conversations, International Francophonie Day strives to create a space of solidarity. It is one that is based on the principles of humanity, democracy, and respect for cultural and linguistic diversity for all.
OPSEU proudly hosted more than 200 delegates at its first-ever Racialized Workers Conference titled, “The Realities of Racialization: Seeking Solidarity,” held from March 1 – 3, 2019 in Toronto.
