What can you do to help?
- Pledge to buy your beer, cider and wine at the LCBO, where the proceeds will continue to fund the public services we all rely on, including teachers, nurses, seniors’ care and more and show your support at weownit.ca/the_lcbo
- Share your support for LCBO workers on social media using the hashtag #SavetheLCBO
- Use this helpful tool from the We Own It campaign to write a letter to your MPP, and tell them that you don’t support privatizing public assets we depend on, like the LCBO.
What’s at risk?
Ontarians have already lost too much to privatization.
The Liberal government is giving up on as much as $500 million a year by privatizing Hydro One. The previous Conservative government cost us $1 billion a year when they privatized Highway 407. And the Auditor-General recently reported that private contractors charged the province more than $8 billion too much for P3 infrastructure projects.
We can’t afford to let the government repeat these mistakes with the LCBO.
