This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #BalanceforBetter, this theme goes in different directions but we will focus on motivational women in entrepreneurship in the Quinte region who wear many hats in life. Such as balancing being a business woman, entrepreneur, having a family, being a mom, a wife, a friend, a caregiver and at times a house referee.
There will be great local door prizes and party bags for everyone to take home.

Kingston – Queen’s Women’s Network

If you are looking to meet other self-identifying women who work and study at Queen’s University, this is the event for you! The event will consist of:
- A brief introduction to the history of QWN and who we are
- Moderated networking – if you’re looking to meet others with similar goals and interests in mind
- Snacks and socializing – if you’re interested in a relaxed lunch hour and social time
- Coffee and convene – sign-up to be paired with another attendee and enjoy a future coffee, on QWN!
All are welcome to drop in for 10 minutes, half an hour, or the whole event. Learn more about the group or just enjoy the company of other members and a coffee (or tea, if that’s more your style).
QWN aims to engage and empower diverse leaders as a non-hierarchical employee resource group and is thankful to the Inclusive Community Fund for their support of this event.

The Dinner Party is a major fundraiser to raise awareness and support for two important charities: Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention Services Halton (SAVIS) and Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan-Halton. All profits raised through ticket sales, silent auction and 50/50 draw are solely dedicated to supporting these two groups. Since inception, The Dinner Party has raised approximately $400,000.

A Concert for Hope: Chamber music for flute and strings composed by women and played by women. A fundraiser for women’s charities on each side of the Detroit River: Women’s Center Shelter for Women and Children in Windsor and Warrior Women Against Poverty in Detroit. The concert is very reasonably priced at $35 which includes the performance and a reception that includes crêpes by MIAM French Crêpes and hors d’oeuvres by Koolini Italian Eatery. Proceeds to Women’s Center Shelter and Warrior Women against Poverty.
A Concert for Hope arose out of our determination to celebrate women’s achievements while fundraising for women’s charities. Fundamental to our endeavour is a love for music and a recognition of its power to uplift and comfort in troubling times. The world continues to work towards gender balance and the exercise of selecting orchestral music written by women composers highlighted that while important progress has been made, pressing for progress must continue. Classical music has sometimes been characterized as an elitist form of music but our musicians are local activists for equality and making diversity and inclusion a part of our concert was fundamental to our endeavour.
