Provincial Discussion Table talks resume
April 27, 2011 The developmental services
central bargaining team met with representatives from the
Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Community and Social
Services, employer groups and CUPE on Tuesday, April 26.
Discussions continued for 20 hours and were of a positive
nature, however the team was not able to reach an agreement in
the time allotted. With a view to making sure this new process
achieves its full potential, new days have been scheduled for
the Developmental Services Provincial Discussion Table (DSPDT)
the first week of May.
We would like to thank all of our members for their great
ongoing contribution to the developmental services campaign. We
continue to receive great media coverage and member
participation with block walks held by 11 locals in a show of
solidarity across the province.
If you haven’t already done so, please send your
letter to Dwight Duncan demanding investment in this sector to
prevent future cuts to services. Send a letter now
